How to achieve the highlight look:
When creating highlights with extensions you want to apply them in the correct place to ensure it looks fabulous.

For a realistic outcome, you may want to try adding 2-3 clip-in pieces to your hair. You want to start clipping the first section to the bottom half of your head, you then follow with the middle and then you attach the last to the top of your head just below the crown. This means the hair will be dispersed throughout your hair evenly and give salon-looking results. If you’re using two different coloured extensions to add dimension, the colours will blend seamlessly instead of looking divided, using this method.
Natural Beauty:
If you want to keep your highlights looking natural you can easily do this by adding extensions and preventing yourself from using bleach if you just want to give it a go. So what are your options? You can opt for a hair extension piece that has a couple of different colour tones in it. If you want a bit of dimension try choosing a shade 2 to 3 shades lighter than your natural hair to give you that sunkissed look.

The other option for a bit more of an obvious highlight whilst still staying natural is choosing an extension piece about three shades lighter than your natural colour. It doesn’t need to have multiple shades, the hair will spread throughout your natural hair and it will just create a more contrasting highlight effect. You can add deep dimension by opting for hair extensions that have highlights in them. This will give your hair that extra added depth as it will now have multiple colours in it, not just one or two. Don't be scared to have multiple tones! this will just accentuate the movement and depth of your hair.
A bit of excitement:
If you want a bit more of a change but don’t want to use bleach or dye to achieve it, you can definitely give it a go with some extensions. Extensions are available in all sorts of fun and fabulous colours, even multicoloured ones!

A lot of the time a big colour change requires of lot of commitment and often, bleach. This can end up being quite expensive and you may not even like the end result! We have all had a hair nightmare at some point and just wished we could have tried it somehow before we fully committed ourselves. Well, with hair extensions you can do exactly that. Now, if you’re going to a fun event, or you just want to add a funky colour to your hair to change up your look, adding hair extensions will not fail you! You can even pick a couple of colours such as red and pink and layer them up, creating a multidimensional look! If you have deeper skin tone, bright vivid colours will really complement your skin tone! If you have a fairer complexion, pastel colours will enhance your features harmoniously.
Gimme the money!!....piece
The money piece! A lot of people get their money piece (your two front strands) lightened to frame the face. However, due to bleach, a lot of people suffer from breakage of their front strands of hair, giving less of an impact than desired.
With a one-clip extension piece, you can make your money piece feel full and healthy again! You could even get a one-clip balayage extension piece. This would blend in with a darker root, typically your actual hair colour and get lighter at the ends. This creates the melted highlight while giving maximum impact.
Don't forget the low light!

Low lights are usually just a gloss, toner or hair dye. Meaning they are healthier on your hair. Not ready yet? Don't worry, we have your temporary solution. You can use this exact method above to add lowlights to your hair if that’s what you want. Going for pieces that are a few shades darker, especially on very dark hair will make a more obvious low-light rather than a couple of shades. This is just due to deeper shades being harder to contrast than light. So going for those few shades darker will add extra contrast making the lowlights more obvious.
