On holiday or just anywhere you might want to switch up your hairstyle from day to night. In the summer heat, it can be hard to find the effort to constantly change up your hair. It may seem hard if you're wanting to switch things up while also not applying heat to keep the hair healthy.
If you haven't got much time in between your beach day and the beach club we have a few different looks you can transition from day to night with little changes needed but enough to make your hair feel refreshed. These transitional summer hairstyles will best suit human hair extensions due to the fact you can change up the style of human hair extensions like you can change the style of your natural hair whereas with synthetic hair extensions, you can not change the style of them with heat. We are going to suggest going heatless with these styles as they are heatless friendly and reduce any risk of heat damage to the hair.
Pony with pieces to a slick back
The first transitional look can be a simple pony from day to night. In the warm months you sometimes just want the hair up and out the way especially if your doing summer activities and excursions. During the day you can create a pony and pull a few pieces out around the face to create a softer relaxed hair style. Especially on the beach or poolside lounging, you don't want your hair too polished otherwise, it might get disturbed by the salty air and sea breeze.
Transitioning this style into your pool party look, take out the bobble and use a brush to slick back the small pieces that are framing your face. Use a fine toothcomb or any brush you have to hand and brush the hair over a few times. Re-secure the pony with a bobble. Take some hairspray or styling gel and apply it to the areas where you usually get flyaways. This will elevate the slick back look and snatch that ponytail! You now have an ultra-glam slick -back pony for your evening of fun. There we have it, your first transitional holiday hairstyle complete with NO heat! Hair health is key so heatless hairstyles when abroad will help the hair to not become dry even further.
Braids to Waves
Going from braids to waves, braids for the day and waves for the evening! This is super easy and you can get GORGEOUS waves for the evening because having your hair down can make you feel a bit more glam. No heat styling tools are needed in this look which is perfect for on holiday, you can have full glam with minimal effort.
With your hair extensions in, create two braids on either side of your head. For the day this will keep your hair out of your hair and it's also a very protective hairstyle! With this hairstyle, you can also do this with wet hair as long as by the evening the hair is dry! If you want tighter waves make sure the braid is tighter, for a looser wave you need a loose braid.

Remember! Your extensions can change colour due to chlorine in swimming pools! You are best not to wear them in the pool however if you do, wet the hair before entering the pool, this will create a barrier and make it harder for the chlorine to enter the hair extensions.
When the evening comes you will be a heat-free beauty. Release the braids, make sure they are dry now if they got wet during the day. If you want to enhance the hair textures you could add a texturising spray. Now for the evening, you will have a stunning head of hair that everyone will be jealous of.

Tip! This is a good time to add hair care products. If you wanted to you could apply a leave-in conditioner to the lengths of your hair and the hair extensions before braiding them. this will give the hair a little extra moisture and help the hair to not have any frizz when taking the braids out in the evening.
Natural texture to halo braids!
If you have natural curls or wavy hair types, on holiday the salty air and seawater brings out your natural waves and curls. Rather than using heat to smooth these out you can embrace the natural texture during the hot weather! During the day you don't need much maintenance, just let your hair and extensions be free! If you are wearing human hair extensions some types of hair extensions have a natural wavy texture. Letting them develop their natural texture to match yours for this look will enhance the look. However you can choose to use a heat styling tool on the extensions to match them to your hair texture. If you don't have textured hair, do not worry, you can also create this gorgeous look.

Transitioning into your glam summer style. Split your hair down the middle. On either side of the head at the front of the hair create two french braids going down just past behind your ear. Here you can secure the braid with an elastic or with some bobby pins. This style looks like you've put a lot of effort into it but really it only takes a few minutes.
Tip! If your hair has been in the sea or the pool, add some dry shampoo to your hair. This will give you an instant fresh look and feel.
Tips for handling your hair and extensions in the sunny months:
- Take a dry shampoo and dry conditioner with you abroad. Dry shampoo will refresh the hair in between washes and dry conditioner will add moisture back into your hair and extensions
- Prolonged exposure to sun and salt water can lead to dry hair, especially with hair extensions. Taking deep conditioning treatments away with you will ensure your hair and the hair extensions have all the moisture they need and you won't have dry frizzy ends!
- Taking a UV protection spray (to prevent color fading) and a heat protectant spray away with you will protect your hair and extensions from the sun's UV rays and your heat styling tools
- Wear your hair in protective styles such as ponytails, braids and buns
