"Can I take my extensions on holiday?" The answer is yes you CAN! If you’re an extensions wearer and lover we know that you will want to take them away on holiday with you so you can look fabulous while you are away. It can sometimes be difficult to keep your hair extensions knot-free when packing them and wearing them on holiday. Along with your clip-in extensions it is best to take some extra products with you to ensure your hair and your extensions are healthy while away.
We have a few different tips that you could put to use when going away that will help you keep your extensions in great condition on holiday and looking as good as new.
STEP ONE: HOW TO PACK YOUR HAIR EXTENSIONS
When packing your extensions don’t pack them without any sort of packaging covering them. If you pack them without any type of cover the hair will get knotted and tangled within your suitcase. This will then lead to your extensions being damaged and not ready to wear when you arrive at your destination. This is a big NO-NO.
Stranded extensions box
If you have clip-in hair extensions from stranded hair the extensions come in a hard box.
This will protect the hair from any tangling of damage. The packaging is slim so can easily fit in a suitcase or even your carry on! However, if you do not have the stranded box for extensions there are a couple of things you can pack your extensions in to keep them shiny and new.
Silk pouch
You can purchase a silk bag. The silk bag will keep your hair extensions shiny and tangle-free. This is because silk has minimal friction because of its smooth texture.
Silk Pouch from the silk Collection
It will allow the hair to freely move within the bag, preventing tangles. This silk bag will be compact in size so this will be super travel-friendly if you are struggling with space in your suitcase. This is a good product worth investing in if you travel a lot as silk bags, silk pillowcase and bonnets are highly recommended by hair professionals to keep your natural hair and extensions shiny and knot-free.
Plastic sleeve
If you have a plastic sleeve. If you have a plastic sleeve that your hair will fit in you can pack your extensions in one of these. The plastic sleeves are compact in size and thin so it won’t take up a lot of room in your bag. You can lay this plastic sleeve flat in your case or you can roll it. Rolling it won’t affect the extensions it will just reduce the amount of space taken up in your bag.
STEP TWO: DON'T FORGET THESE HAIR EXTENSION TRAVEL ESSENTIALS
Now in order to keep your hair and your extensions in tip-top condition while on holiday we have a few things you recommend taking with you on your getaway to make your life easier to protect your extensions at all costs. Taking extra care precautions will never hurt.
UV protection spray!
Packing UV protection will help protect your own hair and your extensions from sun damage if you have human hair extensions. UV protection spray will help protect your hair against the sun’s UV rays while doing outdoor activities or on your beach day. The sun can change your hair color and hair extensions colour if your exposed to UV for long periods of time and also cause dry hair. For example, people who have blonde hair, the sun can actually bleach your hair further, making it lighter. While it can make your hair lighter it can also change the tone of your blonde hair. For example, if you have light ashy blonde hair the sun can give it a yellow tint. If you have colour-treated hair eg.dyed your hair from blonde to brown, the sun will speed up the process of the dye leaving your hair. It is best to use UV protection spray to prevent these possibilities from happening.
Heat protection spray!
Neal and Wolf Heat Protection spray
Heat defence spray will protect your hair and your hair extensions (human hair extensions) from the heat. If you like to style your hair a lot on holiday with your trusty hair straightener or hair curler, using a heat protectant spray will protect your hair and the extensions from drying out and breaking off through the spray's protective layer! This is essential for prolonging the life of your extensions and your own hair.

Malibu C sachet
The swimming pools and sun creams can have harsh chemicals in them that actually cause a chemical reaction to your hair and extensions. This is more common in blonde hair. Chlorinated swimming pool water can cause hair extensions and hair to turn green or pink. The green and pink chemical reaction can also happen if sun cream comes into contact with the hair extensions. Using this Malibu C sachet will reverse the colour change chemical reaction and help get your hair and extensions back to normal. To prevent your extensions at risk of changing colour, we recommend taking them out before swimming.
